This contract provides for the improvement of 4 parking lots in the City of Goldendale by removal of existing pavement, sidewalks and curbs, site excavation and embankment, the installation of stormwater facilities, crushed surfacing, HMA, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, fencing, permanent signing, pavement markings, lighting and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Plans, Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.

Bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bond in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount in the bid proposal.  Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Klickitat County.

Approximate project cost is estimated to be between $600,000 and $1,000,000.

BNSF Track Switching Facility – Feasibility Study Report Available for Review and Comment

The Washington State Department of Ecology is giving the public an opportunity to review and comment on the Feasibility Study report for the BNSF Track Switching Facility site located at 500 Main Street in Wishram. A Feasibility Study outlines a variety of cleanup options to address contamination by reducing or eliminating the risk to human health and the environment. It includes information about how much the cleanup will cost as well as how long it will take.

The 30-day public comment period will run from July 15, 2022 through August 15, 2022.  Documents can be reviewed online at Ecology’s BNSF Track Switching Facility cleanup site website at https://apps.ecology.wa.gov/cleanupsearch/site/230. Documents can also be reviewed in person at the Goldendale Community Library located at 131 W. Burgen Street in Goldendale or by appointment at Ecology’s Central Regional Office at 1250 W. Notice is hereby given that a Primary will be held in Klickitat County, Washington, August 2, 2022, in all precincts within Klickitat County. The election will be conducted by mail ballot.

Voter registration forms are available at post offices, libraries, or at the Auditor’s Office. Registrations and updates may also be submitted online at votewa.gov.

The last day to register to vote, transfer or update an existing registration by mail or online is July 25, 2022. The last day to register to vote or update your voter registration in person is August 2, 2022, in the Klickitat County Auditor’s Office, 205 S. Columbus Ave. Room 203, Goldendale, WA. The registration books will remain closed until August 16, 2022.

On or before July 15, 2022, the Auditor will mail each qualified voter within the county a mail ballot. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by August 2, 2022. No postage is required if mailed within the United States. Ballots returned to our office or dropped into a designated drop box must be returned by 8:00 P.M. on August 2, 2022. Replacement ballots may be obtained from the Auditor’s Office or by visiting votewa.gov.

The Auditor’s Office shall provide the availability of registration and voting aids, assistance to elderly and disabled persons, and procedures for voting by mail. Contact the Auditor’s Office if you need assistance with a mail ballot.

The Accessible Voting Unit is equipped with audio and visual technology which allows voters with limited vision, hearing, or physical disabilities to vote more independently.
